To stimulate the development of new communications services and the aggregation of such services in network mashups, Microsoft has launched the Connected Services Sandbox, a live proof-of-concept and demonstration environment. There is no doubt that this new services will unite the developers and service providers to bring up a market based communication prototype as a Framework that provies the environment for aggregating, provisioning and managing service mashups. Participants in the Sandbox are provided with the components necessary to create innovative services that can be taken to market rapidly.

Microsoft in partnership with BT is offering a series of competitions to identify new connected services. Participants will collaborate and compete to generate new designs and functional prototypes. The competitions are managed by TopCoder, a leader in online programming competition
