MSDN Webcast: Overview of SQL Server StreamInsight (Level 200)
Wednesday, December 02, 2009 1:00 PM Pacific Time (US & Canada)
In this webcast, we explore how you can build event-driven applications to gain insight from high data rate event stream sources with very low latency. We provide an overview of the new Microsoft platform for complex event processing (CEP) called Microsoft SQL Server StreamInsight, and then we discuss the following scenarios: formulating declarative queries to express powerful analytics over event streams, programming against the object model of the CEP engine, and writing adapters for event stream data sources. Attendees learn how familiar development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, Microsoft .NET, C#, and Language-Integrated Query (LINQ) can be used for developing their event-driven applications.

MSDN Webcast: SQL Server 2008 R2 Support for Up to 256 Logical Processors (Level 200)
Wednesday, December 09, 2009 1:00 PM Pacific Time (US & Canada)
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 introduces support for greater than 64 logical processors, supporting up to 256 logical processors on the Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system. In this webcast, we discuss the importance of being able to scale to 256 logical processors, examine the methodology Microsoft employed to validate performance and scalability of SQL Server 2008 R2, and provide details on SQL Server scalability tests and the hardware platforms the tests ran on. We also discuss architectural innovations that made it possible for SQL Server 2008 R2 to scale beyond 64 logical processors and share SQL Server best practices.
