As a PC geek you might be aware of what spyware means and sometimes even such an experienced user in IT forgets about importance of securing their own machine (PC or laptop). Recently one of friend have had such situation and he never thought he should know about Anti-phishing software even though he never visits any of Online Banking sites. 

Anti-spyware software is only as effective as its most recent update because it is inherently reactive treating "known" threats. So when you install anti-spyware software, immediately go to the vendor's web site and update the program and definitions and then turn on the auto update feature. Many anti-spyware products are not designed to work on viruses, Trojans and other malware.
