It is a great news that Microsoft has re-confirmd about the changing the economic model for delivery of rich Business Intelligence (BI) functionality such as moving the dashboard, score-cards and analytic functionality from the stand alone produce PerformancePoint Server 2007 into Sharepoint Server. You can  Watch this short video explaining the update and no doubt that it will help the BI suite and integration with Sharepoint technologies.

As I have already talked about the announcment on next generation Data Warehousing (BI) features with  Project “Madison” with an early release aka   SQL Server Fast Track Data Warehouse, with an added help from Hardware vendors including seven new reference architectures from Dell, HP, and Bull.

Coming back to the subject note Microsoft press offering the 35% discount on books from MS Press on the Office system including SharePoint. Also speaking of SharePoint, you can use Excel and Excel Services to analyze business intelligence data within SharePoint sites. TechNet Magazine published a great article on Business Intelligence with SharePoint and Excel that looks at how Excel offers enhanced reporting and in-depth data analysis, and how SharePoint Server 2007 is the pivotal negotiation point for data between server and client applications.
