Notes to take care before you test SQL Server 2008 within your development environment?
First of all I would like to remind the users to install the SQL 2008 CTP on their Virtual Server environment rather than mixing with current test or development (physical) environment. Once the SQL 2008 CTPs are more stable and if you are planning to test it with real-time data (say by 2008) then you can deploy within your development environemnt This will enable to recover or point-in-time restore to current SQL 2005 environment without disturbing it, as Microsoft is planning to release CTP every 3 months for SQL 2008 until the RTM release.
Also make a note that the Books Online (BOL) has been re-written completely in SQL 2008 with an easy feedback that will enable the SQL Documentation team to document the bugs & features effectively.
So do not forget to install Books Online when you have downloaded this CTP from here.
The more you feedback to the Product team will help to update the documentation that effectively.
