SQL Server 2008 (SSQA.net)

SQL Server 2008 - what would be cost for licensing as compared to SQL 2005 version?

Since the release of SQL Server 2008 CTP most of the blogs are filled with 'whats new' feature within this release or going to create a highlight as compared to SQL 2005.

The best of all those blogs I would recommend (thanks to) Bob Beauchemin in SQLSkills for the extensive list & useful blog information about SQL Server 2008 new features - the list.

So now the question for Finance Managers in an Enterprise to think about what would be 'cost' of depolying SQL Server 2008 as it speaks more enhancement to the current SQL 2005 version. During SQLPASS 2007 summit Ted Kummert from Microsoft highlight that "SQL Server 2008 costs will be free (no extra cost or same cost) as compared to SQL 2005", so this is a promising word for Finance departments in this case... keep watching the Microsoft SQL homepage space.
