Here it goes again - cumulative update package 5 for SQL Server Service Pack 2?
If you remember we have blogged about release of Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server Service Pack 2 since it has been declared to be available on download, CUpdate4-SQL2005SP2 is the one I'm referring. So is it is available for download (released recently), now here it comes another wait episode for cumulative update package 5 for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 - SSQA-KBA2256.
This is the new methodology adopted by Microsoft Development team to include set of bug fixes in the form of Cumulative Update, where in later the next release - aka new servicing model as we explained in previous blog post - ServicingModelChanges.
So coming back to this CU5 release :
This cumulative update package will be released in the December 2007 timeframe. The information that is presented here is subject to change at any time before the release date without prior notice.

When it is available for download this Cumulative Update 5 contains hotfixes for SQL Server 2005 issues that have been fixed since the release version of Service Pack 2. So keep watching this space for further update!
